Sargas return with HISTORIA, a gripping three-track EP forged during one of the most turbulent chapters in Iran’s recent history—the 2023 protests ignited by the murder of Mahsa ‘Jina’ Amini. With a runtime of just over 21 minutes, this release is more than just music—it’s a tribute. A haunting dedication to the women of third-world countries whose lives are too often defined by restriction, silence, and suffering.
Each track on HISTORIA unravels a chapter of a woman’s journey through a life born into oppression. Opening with Birth, Sargas paint the stark image of growing up in a society steeped in outdated traditions, where dreams suffocate under the weight of control and expectation. It’s not a celebration of life—it’s the beginning of an inevitable decay.
In Home, the protagonist finds peace not in life, but in death. Through a ghostly dialogue with her parents, she confronts the love and the pain they’ve passed down. Sargas masterfully explore the paradox of being alive while spiritually dead, and how home becomes not a place, but a grave.
Finally, Hell ventures deeper into the psyche of someone who sees suicide not as an end, but as a possible transcendence. To her, death is divine—not in a religious sense, but as a doorway to peace. The song collapses the wall between hell and heaven, suggesting that the afterlife’s torment might be kinder than Earth’s cruelty.
Brutal, poetic, and deeply human, HISTORIA doesn’t ask for sympathy—it demands reckoning. Sargas have crafted a record that turns pain into protest, and death into defiance. It’s not just an EP; it’s a cry that echoes across borders.
Crushing Death Metal grooves and ominous roars—Iranian Death Metal quintet Sargas shatters genre norms with their distinct brand of Nihilistic Metal. Formed in 2018 by guitarist Salar Alizadeh and former drummer Hamed Sadraei, the Tehran-based Blackened Death Metal outfit underwent several lineup changes during the three-year songwriting process for their upcoming debut album. The band’s evolution took a defining turn with the arrival of Saleh Rezayi on vocals, whose ferocious growls and screams became a driving force in their sound. With the addition of Arsalan Soltani on lead guitar and Pooya Shitrah as drummer and band manager, Sargas solidified their lineup and sharpened their vision. Drawing inspiration from Black and Doom Metal, they fearlessly defy extreme metal conventions—including the genre’s longstanding aversion to clean vocals. Marked by triumphs and tragedies, and shaped by the loss of those closest to them, Sargas crafts music that emerges from darkness and embraces death itself.
